How it works

Nothing about you is guessed. Here's how it's measured.

Most tools skip straight to a verdict. VITALS shows its work: how your answers become a living profile, and how that profile gets put to work on your decisions.

Four stages, and it sharpens the more you use it

Stage 1

Start the Assessment

Starting your profile takes about 20 minutes. The questions come from validated psychology, with decades of validation research behind them, but they don't feel like an exam. There's nothing to study for and no wrong answer, because the goal isn't to score you. It's to capture how you actually think, work, and respond.

Most people brace for the catch: the part where you answer everything and then hit a paywall. There isn't one here. You see real insight about yourself before you're asked to pay for anything, so you can judge whether this is worth your time on the evidence, not the promise.

What you put in is the foundation for everything that follows. The more candidly you answer, the more accurate the picture, and accuracy is the whole point when you're relying on the output to inform your decisions.

Stage 2

View Your Profile

Your profile maps you across six dimensions: Values, Interests, Temperament, Action Style, Learning Style, and Social Style. Together they form a picture detailed enough to act on, not a single type you have to squeeze yourself into. It's a model of how you work, built to hold up under real conditions.

It's also a living thing. Life shifts: a new role, an unexpected setback, a change in what matters to you. Your profile shifts with it, so the picture stays current instead of frozen at the moment you first answered.

Nothing here is a black box. Anywhere an insight shows up, ask "Why am I seeing this?" and get a real answer that traces back to your responses. And the profile is yours: export it or delete it anytime. You decide what's shared and with whom.

Stage 3

See It in Action

A lens takes everything in your profile and points it at one real choice. Most people start with Career, because that's the decision they arrive carrying: what to do next in their work, and how to be sure it fits.

Instead of generic advice about what worked for someone else, the lens reasons from your actual dimensions. It shows why a direction suits you or doesn't, where the friction is likely to come from, and what to weigh before you commit, in language that's about you, not about the average person.

The lens doesn't make the call. It gives you a clear, evidence-based read so you can make it with your eyes open.

Stage 4

Ask VITALS Anything

VITALS isn't a report you read once and shelve. It's a living profile, one you come back to as your life and relationships change.

Ask VITALS lets you probe what's there, question an insight that feels off, and bring it into a real moment: a hard decision, a conflict, a choice you're not sure about. The read you get traces back to you, not to people like you, not to the most common answer.

The more you invest in it, the sharper it gets. Share more life context, generate a career or relationship lens, bring someone close to you in for a comparison. Each one adds to the picture, and that picture is what Ask VITALS is drawing from every time you ask. It's still your call. Ask VITALS just makes sure you're making it with the full picture. am I seeing this?" and get a real answer that traces back to your responses. Here's what a result actually looks like

A pattern named:

A clear read like "you're energized by variety and worn down by rigid routine." The kind of pattern you may have felt for years without quite putting words to it.

The reasoning shown:

Every insight traces back to your responses. Ask "Why am I seeing this?" and you get the dimensions and answers behind it, not a verdict from nowhere.

A next step that fits:

Guidance you can act on this week: a direction to test, a question to sit with, a tradeoff to weigh. Sized to your actual situation.

Built for precision, not simplicity. Why you can trust what you see

Validated science

Built on validated psychology frameworks, including Jungian typology, Cattell's 16 Personality Factors, and Holland's interest themes.

Your data stays yours

Export it or delete it any time you want. You decide what gets shared and with whom, and it's never sold.

No black box

Every insight shows its work. Ask "Why am I seeing this?" and you get the actual reasoning: the science sets the pattern, the AI only puts it into words.

You stay in charge

VITALS surfaces patterns and lays out possibilities. It doesn't hand you a verdict, and it isn't built to keep you scrolling. You own your decisions.

Questions worth answering before you start

Who's behind the science?

VITALS is built on established psychological science. Your assessment draws from validated frameworks including Jungian typology, Cattell's 16 Personality Factors, and Holland's vocational interest themes, research lineages that span decades. Your answers are scored deterministically against these validated patterns. AI is used only to put the results into language you can use.

Is this just another personality quiz?

No. A quiz sorts you into a type. VITALS asks 291 questions and never reads any of them on their own: your answers pool into 87 clusters, get scored against population norms, and resolve into six dimensions. What comes out isn't a category. It's a detailed picture of how you think, decide, and act, precise enough to guide a real decision.

What happens to my data?

Your data stays yours. Export it or delete it any time, control exactly what gets shared and with whom, and it's never sold. It lives in VITALS' own systems, not inside an AI company's training set.

How does VITALS decide what to show me?

The scoring itself is deterministic: your answers are matched against validated patterns from decades of data, no AI involved. Where we use AI is to put those patterns into language you can understand. Every insight comes with a "Why am I seeing this?" that shows you exactly where it came from. Want to know more? Just use Ask VITALS and dig in.

Does VITALS tell me what to do?

No, and that's on purpose. We show you the patterns, the tradeoffs, and why certain paths tend to fit people who work the way you do. We'll make suggestions and we'll always show the reasoning, but the decision stays yours. We're all looking for answers. The ones worth having aren't generic. They match who you are and the life you're actually living.

How is this different from ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is trained on everyone, so its answers are generic by design. It's built to predict the most likely answer, not to know what makes sense for you. VITALS starts by measuring who you are, then uses that profile as the context for every insight. Because it knows you, it can say more with less: the difference between advice for people like you and advice that's actually about you.

What does it cost?

Starting is free, and free means a real profile, not a teaser: you see yourself clearly before anyone asks you for anything. When you're ready for more there's one paid plan, with clear pricing shown up front and nothing you're locked into.
